Cord System

Students begin Grupo Capoeira Brasil with a white cord. Throughout the year Instructors will evaluate the students' progress. When students participate in the annual batizado the evaluation will determine whether or not they have required skills to be promoted to the next cord. Students are evaluated by improvement in their: technique, dedication to the group and capoeira, character, discipline and specific demands of each level. It is possible that an advanced student, who fulfills the requirements of the next level and the level after will receive the higher cord. Also a student who does not meet the requirements of the cord will not receive the next cord until they are ready.
